We’re always on your side but we will call you out if we think it’s in your best interests.
We live in a fast-moving world: your coaching session is your time to stand still.
Coaching tools and techniques change your perspective and may allow a light bulb to go on.
Laughter is sometimes the light we need to be able to see things clearly.
We believe in celebrating your humanity; your flaws are just a part of who you are.
Our coaching “process” isn’t very “process-y” as we believe that humans are fundamentally individual so what works for one person may not work for another. Every coach is different, every coachee is different and every coaching relationship is different.
However, there are some characteristics of our coaching practice which you can probably expect:
An environment which is safe, supportive and completely confidential
An honest discussion, upfront, to determine what success looks like for you – exploring aspirations, challenges and not shying away from the difficult issues
There will probably be a lot of talking but there may also be a lot of silence (and for some sessions that may be all there is)
For some subjects, clients may be encouraged to take a different perspective on the issues by using creative coaching techniques to inject energy into problem-solving
The process should end with greater certainty. On what? That’s for you to decide…
Rachael’s coaching practice is based on the premise that being the best version of ourselves leads to happier and more fulfilling lives but that bringing the best out of ourselves takes time, contemplation and self-awareness which is often difficult to achieve in a fast-paced world.
Her coaching sessions are designed to address issues in a practical, creative and energetic fashion. Clients can expect challenge and support in equal measure as aspirations and obstacles are explored; Rachael won’t shy away from difficult issues but there will also be lots of time for silence and reflection – and for laughter (Rachael being a wholehearted subscriber to the principle that humour is not an anathema to problem-solving).
Prior to qualifying, Rachael spent over 20 years in professional and financial services as a Communications and Business Development specialist; with much of her career spent in asset management and investment banking.
In addition to her Diploma in Executive Coaching, Rachael holds a bachelor’s degree in Law & Politics and an Executive MBA from London Business School. Rachael is also a qualified MBTI practitioner.
"Having a coach really helped me in approaching some key career decisions - strengthening my personal “brand” while also taking the next step up. Interestingly, while the coaching enabled me to do this (I did get my promotion!) it also gave me the confidence to see where my strengths already lay and to use that as the foundation for better decision-making. Rachael is really creative with the way she approaches coaching, the practical exercises we did were so useful and I still refer to them now. Just as importantly, Rachael has a sense of the whole person and brings that to the sessions so nothing is being worked on in isolation. It was a great experience, really valuable and I would recommend Rachael very highly."
Sarah McCullough, Deputy Director of Development at London's Air Ambulance
"Coaching has helped me to understand who I am and how I can use my strengths to my advantage, both in work and in my personal life. Rachael was experienced and the sessions were thought-provoking, I really enjoyed being able to talk openly, both on a work and personal perspective. When we started the coaching, I was hoping to make Partners at my firm – and I did – so a great result all round!"
Belinda Harris, Partner, Knight Frank Investment Management
"I was lucky enough to be coached by Rachael over an 8-month period - she has a real talent for helping people get the best from themselves in a positive way. Rachael has outstanding interpersonal skills and a warm, enthusiastic style. She's approachable, energetic, determined and kind - a great combination and I'd highly recommend her."
